The painting is eyes looking inside the painter and all things and notions of the world. If everything, that we got used to conceiving as the very world, is only a reflection in a mirror of our consciousness, the painting is a world's reflection in the mirror of our subconsciousness. And mirrors, as is well known, can be different: of different colour, foggy, false, covered with shelling of centuries or crystal clear. The latter are so rare as absolute people or painters, whose creations would never distort the true face of the World. Even if such creations exist we will never recognize them. How can you recognize something that has been never seen before? So here are my thoughts about the painting. I think of myself as a painter-egoist - words on my flag run: "Cogito ergo sum".

Series of paintings "Love Is Colder than Death".

What is love? There are a great number of definitions and all of them define something different. My prime interest is the love as the unity of the world and the human being. The Primordial Love - energy that was to give birth to the universe. The energy of Chaos - interosculation of everything - cold, motionless, knowing not any life and death. Absolute.

Human beings are hardly able to conceive this Love, it is within their bodies and souls, but they try to understand and there is the conflict of life and eternity in it.
I see that I'm looking for a black cat in a black room full of false mirrors
But it's not forbidden.

Series of paintings "Towers".

The Cart-Tower.

2003
Cardboard. Indian ink, gouache, water-colour.

The idea to paint this work dawned upon me thanks to blue smoke of a kerosene lantern that was illuminating my way during my little journey to a neighbouring town.

The Balloon-Tower and the Flying-Tower.

2003
41 / 26 cm. Paper. Gouache, water-colour, aquarelle pencil.
38 / 30 cm. Paper. Water-colour.

These two friends-towers and their reckless dwellers flying in cups-spoons-kettles are a product of art-therapy that had taken place in the night before some exam.

The Day-Tower.

2003
41 / 30 cm. Paper. Water-colour, Indian ink, gouache.

The Evening-Tower.

2003
42 / 31cm. Cardboard. Gouache, water-colour.

These two towers are nothing else but ruins of brickworks-jail (its reflection in my mind) in Barabinsk. Besides it's two faces of one and the same place - one is a day-face, another - an evening face.

The Tower in the Double-Bass-Cemetery.

2003
55 / 35 cm. Cardboard. Gouache, water-colour.

A house of cards can also be inhabited.

The Tower of Count Dracula.

2004
46 / 33 cm. Cardboard. Gouache, acrylic colour, water-colour.

It happens when a cage dare be a bird.

The Tower of Faded Love.

2003
46 / 40 cm. Cardboard. Gouache, acrylic colour, water-colour.

When you turn everything on its head you can easily confuse love with hatred, the Moon with the Sun and happiness with grief. Love has never faded, but people become blind sometimes.

The Tower Balancing on One Foot.

2003
47 / 27 cm. Cardboard. Gouache, water-colour, acrylic colour.

The life has always grown up and always - down, but very rare it can stay on both feet.

The Green Tower.

2002
Cardboard. Indian ink, water-colour, gouache.

In this tower lives silence of spring floods.

The Country-Woman-Tower.

2002
39 / 28 cm. paper. Water-colour.

It's my grandma Tasja and Van Gogh little houses.

The Hanging Tower.

2002
Cardboard. Indian ink, gouache, water-colour.

The tower hangs between a day and a night like the human being hangs between good and evil, and only thin strings of conscience and magnanimity hold them on this verge.
